Betty De Shong Meador is a Jungian analyst, member and past president of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. She has served on the faculties of the California Institute of Integral Studies and New College, both in San Francisco, and California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego. She is currently adjunct faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara.

Dr Meador’s translations of Sumerian myth and poetry appear in her book “Uncursing the Dark”, Chiron Publications, 1992, “Inanna - Lady of Largest Heart”, University of Texas Press, 2000, and the forthcoming “On Your Radiant Site - The Sumerian Temple Hymns of Enheduanna”, University of Texas Press

She directed a performance piece of sacred marriage texts from Sumer, presented in several California cities, and has read and performed with actor and director Olympia Dukakis in an on-going collaboration of the ancient poems and myths of the Sumerian goddess Inanna.
