SEKHMET and KUAN YIN: Goddess of Strength, Goddess of Compassion, Egypt and China

Splendor draped Kuan Yin bears the agony of the world. Her compassion flows over demons down below. Not to frighten the evil ones, she took on their wrathful form and carried food in her hands. Goddess of kindness, of bounty, she nourishes all beings with true love.

Lion-faced Sekmet wears the sun-crown on her head, terrifies those who dare to cross her with dangerous and deadly rage. Fierce eyes that blaze with the Sun’s glow, she protects her young.  Her dual nature heals or spreads plagues. Rightly, her devoted worship and fear her, pray for her blessings and tremble at her wrath.

Kuan-Yin-Goddess-archetype of compassion. Her name means “She Who Harkens to The Cries of the World” Compassion for the suffering of others needs to become fierce compassion if caused by callousness, indifference or cruelty. Then Kuan Yin needs to be joined by the Goddess of transformative wrath, the “enough is enough” archetype, personified by lionheaded Sekmet.”
